About Gebrher
History
Gebrher Health and Social Development Charity Organization is a Board-led not-for-profit organization established in May 2021. It aims to provide healthcare and social services to poor Ethiopians. Gebrher is legally registered by Agency for Civil Society Organizations of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in accordance with the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019 as local organization. The name Gebrher has Geez origin; it means wise and faithful servant.
The founders are eighteen volunteer professionals with commendable experience in public service who believe that they are responsible for giving a better opportunity for disadvantaged people in Ethiopia (see our team). Gebrher is determined to bring health and social services to the people in need through well-designed, culturally geared, and sustainable programs.

Engida Girma, is a clinician, teacher and researcher at Addis Ababa University and research associate at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He does trauma related clinical and research works in hospitals and humanitarian settings.
