Description
- The program promotes academic excellence and encourages students to pursue and complete education in public and private schools, colleges and universities in Ethiopia.
The goal of this scholarship
To reward the vision and effort of an applicant who shares similar goals to Gebrher with regards to its humanitarian efforts to provide nurturing care to the community through the service of healthcare and social services. This vision and effort may take many forms including, but not limited to, previous service as well as plans and visions of future service throughout their medical career.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be an Ethiopian citizen
- Applicant must be poor without any support
- Applicant can be a student at primary school, high school, undergraduate or graduate school.
- Applicant must maintain an average GPA 3.2 on 4.0 scale for postgraduate studies
Deadlines and Notifications
Application materials will be accepted twice a year starting with Ginbot 1st and Tikimet1st. Deadlines are Hamle 30th for Gibot applicants and Tahisas 30th for Tikimet applicants.
Notifications will be mailed to award recipients no later than 30 days following the deadline.
Applicant must submit the following
- A completed application form.
- Two reference letters. Academic letter from applicant undergrad school attesting his/her academic stand. A personal letter from persons other than family attesting personal character, integrity and humanistic quality.
- A typed essay up to 500 words of one of the following topics:
- Applicant vision of the future of Gebrher and how to carry its goals.
- How could the applicant make a difference in one’s local community.
- Provide a philanthropic plan or a project that could promote GEBRHER missions.

- We will provide partial or full scholarship based on the requirements
